Known for its comforting ambiance, fresh preparation, and a mix of modern and rural-style seating, this restaurant provides a unique experience that beautifully blends culture and flavor. Whether you are exploring local dishes or simply craving homely vegetarian food, this place never disappoints.
The restaurant is easily accessible from different parts of Varanasi, making it a convenient stop for food lovers. The highlight of Pallavi Baati-Chokha Restaurant is its commitment to serving authentic, freshly prepared dishes, especially their famous baati chokha. Served with smoky, charcoal-cooked sattu baati, rich arhar dal, rice, chokha, and chutney, their combo meals are filling, flavorful, and prepared in the most traditional way. The generous portion size ensures a satisfying meal for one person, and by restaurant policy, these combos are not shared.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of vegetarian dishes including chapatis, paneer pakoda, papad, veg pakoda, and the popular local delicacy — fara. This lentil-based dumpling can be enjoyed steamed or fried, with many visitors preferring the crispy fried version. Seasonal vegetables such as nenua, nimona, and kalaunji add delightful variety to the menu, offering diners an authentic taste of regional home-style cooking. Refreshing drinks like maththa and lassi complement the meals perfectly.
For those who enjoy trying diverse dishes, the restaurant also offers litti chokha, banarasi aloo dum, paneer kadhai, dal tadka, roti, and rice. Dishes like aloo dum — stuffed with paneer — are particularly appreciated for their unique flavors. Whether visiting alone or with a group, customers frequently praise the food for being delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. Many diners recommend not missing the traditional kheer, praised for its balanced sweetness and delightful taste.
The ambiance is peaceful, clean, and designed to make guests feel comfortable, whether they choose traditional seating or modern arrangements. While the food is rich in mustard oil — a common part of local cooking — it enhances the authenticity of the dishes. Guests seeking to explore real UP cuisine will find this aspect especially enjoyable.

Pallavi Baati Chokha restaurant is situated near Sigra which is the heart of the city. It is very accessible from all the corners of the city. This restaurant maintains authentic taste of east UP by serving local delicacies. The restaurant has modern seating arrangements along with traditional rural seating options. The restaurant is completely vegetarian. It offers standard snacks like paneer pakoda, papad, veg pakoda and fara. Fara is a local dumpling like lentil preparation which can be either steamed or fried. I personally preferred it to be fried. There are some local drinks like lassi and Maththa available on the menu. One can enjoy local vegetables like nenua, nimona and kalaunji from the menu. However, these can be seasonal and not available throughout the year. The star items at this restaurant are the combos. I had the normal baati chokha combo. It had 2 pieces of sattu baati, chokha, arhar daal, rice and chatani. By restaurant rules, this combo cannot be shared. The quantity of the items was very good. It was more than enough for one person. The size of baati was huge and it had generous filling. The baati was authentically cooked in the charcoal which gave it the smoky flavour. I also had sattu paratha with chokha. The paratha was very well made and was decent for 1 person. For dessert, I had the traditional kheer which I found to be a good dessert and had balanced sweetness.
The food here is super super tasty. We ordered litti chokha, banarasi aloo dum, paneer kadhai, dal tadka with roti and rice. Everything was so delicious. Aloo dum had paneer stuffing which made it even more tasty. We were 5 people and we ate sufficiently for about 1200rs.
Delicious food, liked Sattu Bati more than Paneer Bari, amazing food, don't miss taste the kheer, it was really awesome... Finger licking food... People who don't like mustard oil, this place isn't a good try for them, but if you wanna try local UP cuisine, must visit this place. Ambience is good too...
