The moment I entered, the aroma of roasted chokha and desi ghee instantly reminded me of traditional gharowa cooking. The ambience is simple but pleasant, giving a village-style vibe that matches the food perfectly. Staff behaviour was polite and service was little slow. It's a great spot if you want a simple, tasty and traditional meal.

It has two sections — one for à la carte and another for thali. We went to the thali section and tried the Baati Thali. They served two types of Baati — one stuffed with sattu and another with paneer. Both were quite heavy yet absolutely delicious. The chokha, cooked in mustard oil, had a perfect smoky flavor, and the kheer served afterward completed the meal beautifully. A must-try place for authentic local flavors in Varanasi.

If you are in Varanasi and you haven't tried Bati Chokha.... Then what have you done. Go and feel it. Best place for Bati and Chokha is this. Great ambiance, Comfortable, no waste of time and most imp. Thing is that 230 wali dish is enough for one person(according to me... It varies)😅👍😇

I love the interior and style of serving. That is the immediate attention from the entrance to the dinning hall, was the wooden and bamboo interiors. Crowded and busy - - people taking selfie, family photos, some resting on khatiya and mostly dinning with confidence. Even we enjoyed the blend of village style serving with modern food flavours. For a family of 6 (actually 9), we had such a wonderful experience that we don't want to miss to recommend our friends and relatives. Yummy and delicious food, clean and tidy, but crowdy family restaurant in Vanarasi.

If you’re craving real, unadulterated local flavors in Varanasi, Baati Chokha is a must-visit. What sets it apart is the food from scratch — no processed shortcuts, just pure authenticity in every bite. The baatis have that rustic, smoky charm, the chokha bursts with fresh flavours, and each dish feels lovingly crafted. Hospitality is warm and genuine — we were personally attended by Rohit Gupta, who made us feel right at home (see his photo below 👌). In a city of many flavors, this place stands out as a true gem. 5/5 — absolutely worth the visit.

The star dishes are litti-chokha, baati with ghee, chokha of brinjal or potato, along with curd, chutneys, and desi sweets. The ambience is rustic with mud walls, charpoys, lanterns, and folk art, giving visitors a taste of rural Uttar Pradesh. Food is served on leaf plates, enhancing the earthy feel. Lovely place to sample some Baati Chokha, along with well prepared side dishes. Very quick service, even though the menu is limited. Especially, the ambience alone is worth visiting the place for. The way they have restored / preserved artifacts from a typical rural setup is awesome. They also have a very good handicraft store in the ground floor. Definitely recommended.

The restaurant serves pure vegetarian food. The food is tasty, staff is friendly and service is good. The prices are reasonable. They have a good theme and people can get an experience of authentic food. On the ground for, you can see how the food is prepared and be sure of the quality of food items. Overall, it's a good food option with reasonable price and great eating experience.
